“When building this practice, we wanted to build a community of like-minded clinicians grounded in cultural humility, accountability, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed care.” - Drs. Han Ren and Annie Farmer

At Pivot Psychology:

  • We model the courage of vulnerability and transparency through integrating tenets of liberation psychology.

  • We recognize the inherently political nature of mental healthcare.

  • We hold our identities and positioniality salient in all the spaces we occupy.

  • We acknowledge the dialectics and challenges of actively working to dismantle systems of oppression while existing and operating under the rules of these systems.

  • We don’t shy away from difficult and polarizing conversations related to our values, politics, and identities.

  • We believe that the best clinical care takes into account who we are and our lived experiences, in addition to our professional training and expertise

  • Who we are colors how we see our clients and this essential work is integrated into our framework for healing.

Join the Team

At the core of Pivot Psychology, we are committed to providing excellent clinical care that balances professionalism with humanity for both our clients and clinicians. We recognize that as clinicians, we are all humans too. We value the lived experience of each of our team members and work to support each other in practicing in the most authentic manner. Life is messy, to say the least, and we are passionate about creating a community of clinicians who are willing to sit with the mess and support each other in sorting through it when the time is right.

We add members to our team on a regular basis. Please be in touch for additional information about the application process if you believe you would be a good fit for our practice.

At Pivot, we believe it takes more than good intentions to make change.

We are committed to working proactively in our community, with our clients and with each other to cultivate true healing.
